Aqua Feed, Coir Feed and Media Feed are 3 part base nutrients each formulated for specific grow media's and systems. Each nutrient has its own unique elemental profile suited for its individual application.
Aqua Feed and its recommended feed chart has been designed specifically for water culture style grow systems that are typically media free with the roots submersed in, or sprayed directly with nutrient solution allowing for 'constant root contact' - deep water culture, nutrient film technique and aeroponics. You will note on the feed chart that a weaker dilution is used when compared with the other two nutrients to avoid potential overfeeding issues - leaf tip burn etc. You will also note that the root fed feed chart calls for less Saturator to reduce foaming. If foaming is excessive, reduce the dilution rate until acceptable.
Coir Feed and its recommended feed chart was formulated with coconut coirs high CEC (cation exchange capacity) in mind. We've slightly reduced potassium and increased both calcium and magnesium to help maintain a balanced nutritional profile at the root zone. You will also note on the feed chart that we recommend the use of a little more Commercial Edition Cal-Mag when growing in coco coir and using Coir Feed nutrients, as opposed to the recommended Cal-Mag dilution rates for Aqua Feed and Media Feed. We highly recommend the use of pre-flushed, calcium and magnesium buffered coco coir for best results. Soak buffered media with Commercial Edition Cal-Mag diluted @ 15mL per gallon and pH adjusted to 5.8 for a few hours, then drain well prior to plant out and continue to feed as per the feed chart.
Media Feed and its recommended feed chart should be used with unamended, inert medias such as perlite, expanded clay, soilless, soil, rockwool etc. The elemental profile has been designed to use in a variety of grow systems as well - both drain to waste and recirculating. If using a soilless or soil media, be sure that it has not been pre-fertilized by its manufacturer. If it the media comes pre-fertilized, typically it is dosed for the first 1-2 weeks of grow only. You should then begin with Media Feed as per the feed chart throughout the rest of the growth phases until harvest.
